The Hippo Recaller 2.4 - Festive Edition

Merry festive season! Not only is it coming to the end of the year, but we are also coming to the end of our first year of blogs. Time has truly trotted by with so many updates to the platform and lots to share with you all. This month is as bumper-packed as ever with team Hippo stampeding the Recaller Platform to the top of the pile to make it the hot topic at Christmas parties (when discussing automated patient recall platforms).

What's new in 2.4?

Our engineers in the back room have done quite marvellously in the past month. Below are just a few of the major updates:

  • 🥕 WhatsApp Doc: Last release we told you that we had onboarded WhatsApp. Now we are starting the see the fruits of our labour with some of our flagship practices using it as part of their automated recall campaigns. Promising early numbers show that patients are engaging with WhatsApp better than with other mediums. More on this in the next few months.

  • 📝 Write back to Patient Record in EMIS: One of the main features that people asked us for was patient write-back. This used to be batch-coded in periodic intervals, but now all communications are automatically coded back into the records (as well as being visible on the platform).

  • 👩🏻‍⚕️Recall Campaigns - clinician select: We recently added the ability to select slot types when creating a campaign. We felt we could do this even better. As slot types are used by more than one clinician, sometimes practices want to be more specific. We have therefore added a ‘Clinician Select’ button in the campaigns section. If you leave this blank, the slot type button will work as always i.e. including all clinicians with that slot type.

  • 🛣️ Address Data: At the request of one of our new users, we now surface the address data of each patient in the platform. We are hoping this improves the booking process for home visits and housebound patients. We are seeing what else we can do with this at a population level.

  • 🍭 Recall Summary Reporting: We now can provide very specific monthly/weekly/daily/hourly/etc summaries of how your recall campaigns are going. Simply tell us how you want your data.

  • ⏭️ Next Appointment Date: Now when you click on each patient who needs a manual recall, you can see if they have an upcoming appointment. This should reduce the number of unnecessary phone calls to book people who are already coming in.

  • ☎️ Manual Recall Data: With more people powering their way through the manual recall lists (especially for flu) and some even doing this full-time, we are starting to generate a lot more data around outcomes for manual recall. We will use this data to improve the success rates of phone calls as well as update our ‘Action Patient’ button with more relevant actions.

A Recall Team appeared ✨

On top of all these amazing changes to the platform, we've now officially started building out our manual recall care coordination team!

These are a group of whip-smart, tenacious and dedicated individuals who pick up where our automated recalls leave off. They're highly trained and able to more effectively reach the portion of patients who don't respond to automated recalls (e.g. those who are digitally excluded, or those who have questions/want to discuss the care).

This is part of our effort to become a holistic proactive care platform - we can now offer a complete end-to-end, hands-off targets platform to practices who want us to just take it off their hands. Our recallers are completely ARRS eligible, meaning that if your PCN has ARRS budget available, you could potentially offload your entire targets work to us at no cost to your practice!
